Order No. 435.DMR

The AstroMedia Ferris wheel can be driven by the AstroMedia steam engine. It follows the tradition of the sheet metal drive models that have been used as accessories for toy steam engines in the children’s rooms of wealthy families since the end of the 19th century. In order to be kept in motion by the rather modest performance of the AstroMedia steam engine, it is designed to be particularly smooth-running and has a strong reduction ratio of 15:1, i.e. the impeller that rotates the ferris wheel has a diameter 15 times larger than the driving wheel attached to the crankshaft of the steam engine.
